Stepping Stones Pediatric Clinic
Stepping Stones Pediatric Therapy is a community focused care provider offering physical, occupational, speech, medical nutrition and feeding therapy to the Spokane area. They are dedicated to providing the highest quality therapy by using a family centered approach to maximize each child’s ability to participate in life’s adventure. SSPT had outgrown their Spokane location and needing a new facility to better serve their clientele. Bernardo Wills was contacted early in the process to provide pre-design programming services to determine the amount of space they needed currently and into the near future. Several undeveloped locations were considered with assistance from Bernardo Wills’ predevelopment site validation process. During the property hunt, a rare unoccupied existing property became available; Coincidentally the building was designed by BW years earlier.
Our team of planners collaboratively worked with ownership through the new facility program sketching out a test-fit diagrammatic floor plan that proved the location was ideally suited for their needs. Budgets were tight, so a trusted general contractor was brought onboard for pre-construction services to assist with quantifying the financial implications of considered improvements. As a united team of ownership, physicians, constructors, and architects, we worked closely together through our target value system of evaluating each improvement on its highest value to the owner’s vision and goals. This effort produced a perfectly suited healthcare facility for Stepping Stones Pediatric Therapy on a limited budget so that they could successfully achieve their vision of opening a new state of the art pediatric therapy care facility.
