Lincoln County PUD Maintenance Shop & Crew Facility

Lincoln County PUD Maintenance Shop & Crew Facility

The Maintenance Shop and Crew Facility in Davenport, Washington is a new 16,650 s.f. building with a separate 10-stall storage building for equipment parking. The facility includes areas for welding, general mechanical work, a lube pit, paint booth, and wash bay.  Support spaces include crew locker rooms, break rooms, offices, and tool and parts storage.

The maintenance bays are designed to service a large variety of vehicles ranging from small personnel vehicles to heavy maintenance equipment. The bays incorporate overhead cranes and overhead lubrication, water and air systems, as well as exhaust ventilation systems.

The facility was constructed of insulated tilt-up concrete panels and features a heated floor slab.

Lincoln County Emergency Response Center
The Emergency Response Center is a multi-use emergency response and community meeting center organized and built by the Lincoln County Fire District #1.  Located in Sprague, Washington, the 16,000 s.f. facility will sit on an undeveloped locally-donated, steeply sloping site and is primarily funded by a FEMA grant with additional support from the State of Washington and local contributions. This building features a large community meeting and training room, ten emergency apparatus bays, twelve sleeping bunks, fitness area, kitchen, offices, citizen safe area, and additional support spaces arranged to maximize the most efficient use of space while providing controlled access and critical line of site views to the exterior approaches.  Concrete and steel construction materials were chosen for durability, economy and local availability.  With a unique two story configuration, the Emergency Response Center utilizes the complicated site by separating parking and approach areas according to use and minimizing the need for cut and fill operations.  This design attribute allowed more of the limited budget to be spent on the building and less on the site development.  Bernardo Wills was chosen for this project from a competitive open interview process where we demonstrated architectural style diversity and unique program to site interpretation with two unique building scenarios that exemplified our commitment to the client and our flexibility in design solutions.
