Growing into State-of-the-Art

Empire Eye was growing out of its previously leased space and desired to add surgeons and more treatment offerings. This 15,000 square-foot facility, developed on a 1.25-acre site, includes 10,000 square feet of clinic space and 5,000 square feet of ASC space. The clinic offers bladeless Lasik vision-correction surgery, laser-assisted cataract surgery, and corneal transplants. The clinic is an ambulatory surgery center (ASC), which is a healthcare facility specially designed for providing same-day surgical care, including diagnostic and preventative procedures.

Interior features include exam rooms, provider offices, procedure rooms, staff support spaces, and a separate ASC suite and lobby. This clinic features an outpatient recovery space, allowing staff to observe patients in a calm, communal environment after procedures.

ASCs have transformed the outpatient experience by providing a more convenient alternative to hospital-based outpatient procedures. All accredited ASCs must meet specific standards that are evaluated during on-site inspections by state and government officials.
