University of Idaho Gateway Project Earns Historic Preservation Award

The Moscow Historic Preservation Commission presented a 2015 Orchid Award to the University of Idaho for its new north campus entry gateways.  The award recognizes outstanding examples of historic preservation in the community. In designing the three masonry monuments along Moscow-Pullman State Highway 8 - at Line Street, Stadium Drive and Perimeter Drive - BWA found inspiration in the Collegiate Gothic Architecture details on historic campus buildings, reinterpreting those elements and incorporating them in the contemporary designs. The iconic landmarks serve as an engaging town-university interface, addressing the university's master plan goal to better integrate the campus into the community.
