U.S. Armed Forces Reserve Center at Fairchild Air Force Base

Completed in 2009, the U.S. Armed Forces Reserve Center at Fairchild Air Force Base was designed for joint use by the U.S. Army Reserve and Washington Army National Guard. This design-build project with Garco Construction, Inc. consisted of six new buildings and a covered two-bay vehicle wash rack. Designers were tasked with fulfilling multiple facility needs in one project, from a community and event center to a flammable storage facility. The resulting complex checked all of the boxes and will serve FAFB’s needs for many years to come. The key to a successful design-build project of this size and scope is finding alternative solutions that meet and exceed individual requirements while maintaining the program budget and schedule.
