Spokane County Medical Examiner's Case Study

Completed in June 2020, the new Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will provide state-of-the-art forensic services to our region. Situated near the south edge of the University District, the project called for renovation and expansion of an existing building. The design process included projecting the needs of the Medical Examiner’s office for 50 years and ensured the final design would support the region’s growth in that time. The new facility enables the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s office to recruit additional staff, and provide their essential service to more communities in Eastern Washington, North Idaho, Montana, and Oregon. Bernardo Wills Architects was pleased to provide architectural design, interior design, and landscape architecture for the project. We give many thanks to MWL Architects, MW Consulting Engineers, Coffman Engineers, and Kilgore Construction for their contributions to this project.
