Exotic Metals Forming Company Manufacturing Facility

Form facilitates function.

As a leader in aerospace sheet-metal fabrication and design, Exotic Metals Forming Company wanted its new manufacturing facility to be highly functional, showcase the company’s state-of-the-art expertise and products, and project a contemporary, progressive image.  The company desired a floorplan providing optimal flow of materials, built components, and staff to maximize efficiency.  Working in partnership with Exotic Metals, BWA led an extensive planning and programming process for the design-build project.

The structure was strategically sited to allow for streamlined receiving and shipping operations while providing a convenient and visually appealing entry for staff and visitors.  In addition to an expansive manufacturing floor, features include a large multipurpose room with a mezzanine and a kitchen for staff use, multiple conference-room options and an open-office floorplan.  Natural light fills the facility.

The building design allows display of actual product at the main entry and views of the manufacturing floor from double-story windows at the entry lobby and breakroom/kitchen.  Additionally, full-height windows in the open office enhance the important connection between administrative and production staff.  Energy-efficient and low-maintenance, the insulated-concrete-panel tilt-up construction lends itself well to the building’s clean lines for a modern design aesthetic that reflects the company’s branding.
