#ThrowbackThursday McEuen Park in Coeur d’Alene

By | Architecture, Landscape Design, News | No Comments

#ThrowbackThursday to one of Bernardo Wills’ favorite landscape architecture achievements – the McEuen Park Redevelopment for the City of Coeur d’Alene. The team’s primary objective included creating a destination park and gathering space for the public while incorporating amenities and features to compliment the venue’s spectacular waterfront setting on Lake Coeur d’Alene. What’s that they say about location, location, location? This park has that and more – Centennial Trail access, an interactive playground and splash pad, public art spaces, a dog park, sports courts, an amphitheater, and more! In 2015, the McEuen Park Redevelopment won a Merit Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects Idaho & Montana Chapter. As our weather heats up, put McEuen on your list for cooling off at the splash pad or heading to the lake, and enjoy!

We are honored to announce that we received a Merit Award for our design of the Ice Age Floods Playground in Riverfront Park by the Idaho/Montana Chapter of ASLA. The Merit Award recognizes superior professional accomplishments in landscape architecture. The project was judged on the design, functionalism, relationship to context, environmental responsibility, overall relevance to the built environment, and more. We knew this project was special, and we are proud of our staff that made this project a reality, cheers!

Business AfterSchool and the North Bank Playground

This week, we got to host a group of sharp students for Greater Spokane Incorporated’s Business AfterSchool program. Our Ice Age Floods Playground design team presented their design process, and then it was the students’ turn to design the coolest playground they could imagine. However, they had to manage a budget, site constraints, and team dynamics throughout the process – preparing them for an authentic design experience. We had a blast with the students, and know that the future is bright!
