At the North Bank Playground at Riverfront Park, crews are working on the operations and maintenance building interior systems.
#WorksiteWednesday At Union Stadium, crews have been working on the final details of the project, working toward final completion sometime mid-October.
#ThrowbackThursday Due to Spokane’s weather and poorly-draining natural turf field’s condition, Spokane Falls Community College’s infield was only for use about half the year and was not conducive for soccer play. Bernardo Wills Architects was tasked with replacing the natural grass field with a multi-use synthetic turf system. The project also included the installation of an irrigation system to cool and wash the synthetic field, and minor patch and repair work of the synthetic surfacing of the running track and field events. With these improvements, teams can utilize the field for practice and competition throughout the year in safe conditions, and more athletes will benefit from the play surface.
#WorksiteWednesday The North Bank Playground Site is taking shape. Aerial imagery shows the new roof on the picnic pavilion, the graded basketball courts, curbing around the playground, the concrete wall separating the playground and the skate park, the west wall of the O&M building going up and a very busy construction site. Rough grading and curbing at the parking lot has also been started.
