At the West of Jefferson mixed-use project in Kendall Yards, crews have installed structural reinforcing to what will be the post-tensioned concrete podium, which separates the main floor retail portion of the building from the apartment portion above. The slab will be poured this Friday. This podium is necessary to meet the required fire separation between the retail occupancy and apartment floor occupancy. Bravo to Baker Construction’s teams on this project.
Here are some construction photos from the Great Flood-themed North Bank Playground in Riverfront Park. ID Sculpture is on-site hand-carving some of the playground climbing walls. They have built plastic tents over the sculpting areas and have a team of 4-6 people in each tent scoring cutting and sculpting the rock to make it reflect our local geology. The skatepark, with two bowls, is also taking shape. Once they start pouring concrete and forming the bowls, the entire process will take about three weeks.
Check out this timelapse from Baker Construction & Development, Inc. showing the site-cast concrete panels going up at the Huntwood Cabinets warehouse expansion in Liberty Lake. There were a total of 30 panels – 25 feet wide by 32 feet high. They make it look easy!
