At the West of Jefferson mixed-use project in Kendall Yards, crews have installed structural reinforcing to what will be the post-tensioned concrete podium, which separates the main floor retail portion of the building from the apartment portion above. The slab will be poured this Friday. This podium is necessary to meet the required fire separation between the retail occupancy and apartment floor occupancy. Bravo to Baker Construction’s teams on this project.
Construction at the Empire Eye Physicians’ new clinic and surgery center is well underway in Spokane Valley, WA.
Here are some construction photos from the Great Flood-themed North Bank Playground in Riverfront Park. ID Sculpture is on-site hand-carving some of the playground climbing walls. They have built plastic tents over the sculpting areas and have a team of 4-6 people in each tent scoring cutting and sculpting the rock to make it reflect our local geology. The skatepark, with two bowls, is also taking shape. Once they start pouring concrete and forming the bowls, the entire process will take about three weeks.
We are the proud recipients of the “Craftsmanship” award from the Oregon Concrete & Aggregate Producers Association’s Excellence in Concrete Awards for our work on the Rosauers Supermarkets Inc location in Ridgefield, WA. The 53,000 SF store is Rosauers’ 22nd location and the first in Western Washington. The project was completed in December of 2019 and employs over 110 community members.
