Placemaking creates a space for the three Rs: reading, relaxation and reflection.
To draw people to the proposed city park and library, and make the facilities a focal point of the community, BWA employed a placemaking approach for the design of the site plan. Architect-led public meetings generated input used in developing amenities, which include a reading garden, public market space, civic plaza and fountain, flag display/veterans’ memorial, picnic shelter, performance/gathering space, seasonal café, open space, walking paths and locations for public art.
