Monumental design makes the honor roll.
Located along Moscow-Pullman State Highway 8, the three gateways serve as the front door to the north side of the campus, greeting students, staff and visitors. With a nod to the university’s rich architectural heritage, the monuments’ contemporary design integrates modern interpretations of such elements as the campus’s Gothic-style railings and historic lanterns. The red brick and cast stone complement the academic institution’s celebrated buildings. While the gateways are new, their connection to the campus’s historic structures earned the university an Orchid Award from the Moscow Historic Preservation Commission. The project also includes lighting, signage, landscaping and an irrigation system.
