Design advances healthcare provider’s commitment to community wellbeing.
In order to help serve the expanding patient population on Spokane’s South Hill, CHAS Health obtained an existing building to house its first clinic in this area.
The one-story clinic accommodates nine exam rooms, one procedure room, a phlebotomy area, a large pharmacy, and various support space for medical staff and providers, including scheduling, clinician offices, and a sizeable multifunction staff room for team meetings.
To address the client’s goal to achieve maximum daylight throughout the clinic, exam rooms are located on the perimeter walls, patient waiting areas incorporate full-height glazing, and interior corridors feature high transom windows at the reception desk, allowing natural daylight to spill into the clinic on all four sides.
BWA designers were able to deviate from CHAS Health’s traditional design standard, employing a new color scheme that creates an updated and modern image for this nonprofit health services provider.
A color palette of neutral grays with blue accents provides a contemporary energy together with maple wood for added warmth to the space. Spots of complementary hues pepper the comfortable furniture. Frosted glass dividers at the reception desk offer patient privacy, while allowing light to transmit through the check-in area. The overall feel is a clean and contemporary aesthetic, promoting patient comfort and safety.
