Celebrating Public Art: The Spokane Arts Mural Rally Brings Color to Downtown Spokane
We’re thrilled to share some exciting news from our neighborhood! Spokane Arts has launched the Spokane Arts Mural Rally, an incredible project designed to brighten the heart of our city and showcase the talents of local artists. After a long pause due to the pandemic, the Mural Rally is here to make up for lost time, installing seven brand-new murals across downtown Spokane this September.
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Yelena and Desmond for their dedication and artistic vision. Their murals have brought new energy and color to our neighborhood, and we’re so grateful for their contributions to our city’s growing art scene.
Make sure to take a stroll through downtown Spokane this month and witness the incredible transformation happening right before your eyes. It’s an amazing opportunity to support local artists and experience the power of public art in building community connections!
The muralists, each bringing their unique styles and creativity, are transforming everyday spaces along BNSF retaining walls and underpasses into vibrant canvases. These murals are not only a celebration of Spokane’s artistic spirit, but they also reflect the resilience and unity of our community. Two of these artists, Yelena Yunin and Desmond Boston, have graciously lent their time and creativity to revitalize our block, turning it into a captivating work of art that we get to enjoy every day.
