Plaza within a plaza builds community.
The City of Spokane Southgate Neighborhood Council’s desire for an urban-themed development drove the design character of this center. Anchored by a Target store, the project features four BWA-designed retail buildings totaling 38,500 square feet. Imaginative use of brick, galvanized steel, and glass imparts a contemporary, industrial quality. The center incorporates a pedestrian plaza and community gathering area highlighted by a fountain with fire feature. This vibrant space establishes a connection with the surrounding neighborhood – a link enhanced by continuing multimodal trails around and through the center within park-like landscaping, also designed by BWA.
