Purposeful design accrues functional and aesthetic dividends.
This project involved the development of vacant shell space at Numerica Credit Union’s Spokane Valley headquarters to accommodate the financial institution’s growth and evolving operational requirements. Goals included effective consolidation of multiple departments, providing ample private office spaces, and equipping staff with diverse meeting and private environments – all while highlighting the credit union’s brand.
The efficient floorplan provides 34 offices, 40 individual open-office work areas, four conference rooms, two waiting areas, and various collaborative spaces for employees. Each department has its own work-station concept, based in part on the degree of collaboration and privacy desired by employees.
Large exterior and interior windows combined with open work areas allow for efficiently utilized natural light. Conference rooms are clad in glass with applied vinyl film for privacy.
New custom furniture (work stations, desks, seating areas and conference tables) adds to the fresh, inviting ambiance.
The primary color palette of the space incorporates warm grays, soft neutrals and rich wood tones. Energetic blue, green, orange and pink hues are captured in architectural features and playful ancillary furniture groupings that highlight the spirited energy of the institution. An abundant use of wood adds texture and warmth, while a mix of dark and light metals provides contrast and visual interest.
A large, centrally placed conference room creates a unifying connection between departments and symbolizes the credit union’s value in community and collaboration.
