BWA – with general contractor Garco Construction – secured two significant design-build projects: the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) North Central Region Administration Facility in Wenatchee and the BCT Complex, Unaccompanied Enlisted Personnel Housing at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) near Tacoma. BWA also will provide interior design services for both projects, for which LEED Silver certification will be sought. Occupancy of the $8.9 million, 30,000-square-foot WSDOT Administration Facility is slated for January 2018. Construction of the $42.5 million, 120,000-square-foot JBLM apartment-style housing complex is scheduled to be completed in June 2018.
Lauren Welsh, Associate IIDA, and Dillon M. Reese, AIAS, have joined BWA as an interior designer and a BIM/CAD technician, respectively. Initial commissions for which Lauren is providing interior design services include several new bank branches in eastern Washington and interior upgrades for corporate offices in Spokane. Dillon is currently supplying drafting, design and construction support for the North Spokane Library remodel and several commercial projects in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and Spokane.
